You get an upgrade early into the content that allows you to breathe in these rooms, but I would have loved to see the idea pushed further. It’s a pretty good means of piling on the pressure, though, like many of this chapter’s new features, it doesn’t ever feel like it’s fully developed. For starters, you’ll encounter rooms with poisonous gas, giving you a limited amount of time to get through them before you run out of air. The truth is somewhere in between while you’ll be doing a lot more shooting and a lot less screaming (oh, yes, and some monster-punching), there’s a decent mix of relatively simple puzzles similar to those you found in the first game and some new enemy types that make the combat a little tenser.Ĭlever twists on the action come about quickly but leave just as fast. Not A Hero’s screenshots and trailers had us thinking it may be a return to the recent action-orientated installments in the franchise, Resident Evil 5 and 6, rather than the terrifying slow-burn that 7 turned out to be. Lasting anywhere between 90 to 120 minutes, the epilogue has you making your way back through the dank mine setting. Not A Hero picks up right at the end of RE7, switching out Ethan for Chris and setting you on the hunt for Lucas, the remaining member of the diseased Baker family that managed to evade capture in the main game. If you were brave enough to make it through the original game then you may remember a special cameo from series regular Chris Redfield in the final few minutes. Note: Full spoilers for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard are included in this article. Though brief, this new add-on, named Not A Hero, is an entertaining if inessential epilogue that neatly wraps up some dangling plot threads. Open the door and smash the crates with your knife to reveal a hole in the ground.ĭrop down here to the Sewage, three switches puzzle and tripods, in what is one of the toughest parts of the DLC.Why not finish the year as we started it, with a good bit of Resident Evil 7? With the handgun equipped, press the left trigger (aim) and then Triangle (or Y on Xbox) to change to it. This is the Backup Power Room, filled with ammo, two Files and most importantly, a Night Vision Device and your first Anti-Regen Ammo (or RAMRODs). From here, the rest of the corridor requires a Night Vision Device to continue, meaning you must enter the door on the right. Towards the end of this area, you'll see a Molded suspending in the air that will drop down. ![]() Shortly after that first White Molded is an Antique Coin in the corner.Ĭontinue following passages round - again, they are linear - sprinting past any Molded you come up against. From the first White Molded, we recommend retreating back to the non-contaminated corridor to make it disappear. We prefer the latter, as if you get far enough, they stop following and / or despawn. You either have two options - stun them with Neuro-stun Grenades, or sprint past them. This series of corridors is a fairly linear (there are locked doors that you'll open up shortly, but ignore them for now) and several White Molded that cannot be killed. And if you haven't, then the Red Shutter is where you need to go first. Now you have the High Grade Filter, you can explore this area safely. ![]() The one ahead is a Clown Door that cannot be opened (remember it for later), so head left. Head through the Green Shutter, and you'll see two doors. Meanwhile, our Antique Coins locations, Mr Everywhere statue locations and File locations lists will help you find every available collectible on Normal and Easy difficulties. Want more help?
